The Senior Computational Biologist at Pfizer will play a crucial role in the Oncology Research Unit (ORU) by leveraging a strong biological and computational background to analyze multi-omics data and contribute to the development of novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and immuno-therapeutics. This position involves collaboration with a team of scientists to advance drug discovery programs, focusing on biomarker analysis and translating findings into therapeutic hypotheses.

  • Collaborate with bench scientists to design and execute computational analysis of omics data from drug discovery programs.
  • Develop and leverage state-of-the-art computational approaches for cancer ADC development and precision medicine.
  • Develop novel algorithms (including ML/AI) and workflows for the analysis of multi-modal data.
  • Conduct in silico analysis to integrate, interpret, and mine internal and public data to address questions about tumor-associated antigens, predictive biomarkers, tumor indications, ADC drug combinations, and resistance mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with scientists from diverse disciplines in ORU and Pfizer divisions.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary project teams to formulate data-driven, actionable hypotheses and contribute to data packages supporting decision making.
  • Present analytical results and literature reviews at project meetings as required.
  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in computer science, bioinformatics, data science, computational biology, or similar disciplines.
  • Proficiency developing and implementing computational data analysis methods for oncology drug development, preferably with experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing multi-omics next-generation sequencing data (e.g., genomics, bulk RNA-seq, single-cell sequencing, spatial omics, proteomics, etc.) for biomedical research.
  • Proficiency coding/scripting in Python and R. Familiarity with Linux environments, high-performance computing, cloud computing, and broad experience with open-source bioinformatics tools.
  • Deep knowledge of ADC development, immune oncology or immunology research and related tools/databases.
  • Strong motivation, passion, and commitment to interdisciplinary science and techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously with different priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation abilities.
