About The Position

Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a large regional Michigan bank in the search for a Senior Compliance Specialist. This role supports the bank's second line of defense by partnering with business leaders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards. Reporting to the Compliance Officer, this position plays a key advisory role across the organization, providing guidance on compliance controls, monitoring activities, and regulatory risk management.

Requirements

• 5+ years of banking or regulatory experience with a strong compliance focus
• Solid understanding of banking laws, regulations, and compliance monitoring methodologies
• Strong judgment, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadlines

Nice To Haves

• CRCM certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Advise lines of business on regulatory requirements, new products, process changes, and compliance risk
• Support development, monitoring, and enhancement of compliance controls and procedures
• Execute compliance monitoring reviews and assess control design and effectiveness
• Communicate findings, root causes, and remediation guidance to business leaders and Compliance Officer
• Prepare compliance monitoring documentation, reports, and presentations
• Provide compliance input during business changes to ensure appropriate controls are in place
• Support complaint management, risk assessments, and compliance training initiatives
• Identify emerging risks and recommend process improvements
