About The Position

The Sr. Compliance Manager (“SCM”)reports to the VP Compliance Management (“Compliance VP”) on the adequacy of the Bank’s compliance management function. The compliance management function generally refers to the compliance oversight of the Bank’s business lines, including its Strategic Partners (“SPs”). This function supports the Compliance VP in directing and overseeing the Compliance Management Team. The SCM is also responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance of one or two of the Bank’s business lines SPs, including various tasks and responsibilities managing the Bank’s respective CMS.

  • Experience working with auditors and regulators (e.g., FDIC, UDFI).

Responsibilities

  • Leads and supports efforts to integrate the Compliance Program into the FinWise Bank’s culture and operations.
  • As directed, prepares, and presents reports on the operation of the compliance management function to the Board and senior management.
  • Assists in the hires and managing of Compliance Managers (“CMs”).
  • Provides coaching and mentoring for CMs, including the preparation of annual performance evaluations.
  • Regularly reviews the completion and quality assurance of work completed by CMs in their oversight of assigned business lines and SPs.
  • As directed, serves as the Bank’s liaison compliance examinations (FDIC/UDFI) or other audits or examinations when the Bank’s Chief Regulatory Compliance Officer (“CRCO”) or Compliance VP is unavailable.
  • As directed, attends the Bank’s Audit and/or Compliance Committee meetings when invited and provides input on compliance issues.
  • Attends and participates in off-site training events and SP site visits.
  • Provides regulatory advice in response to questions in a way that business managers can understand the risks.
  • Performs risk assessments to determine current risk levels and risks associated with the Bank’s products and services, lines of business and SPs, and other factors.
  • Reviews and approves marketing material and customer facing correspondence, and research regulations pertaining to the review.
  • Oversees compliance training completion reports of Bank and/or SP employees; validates that SP annual compliance training program is comprehensive and is relevant and appropriately covers applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assists business lines and SPs in developing or revising policies and procedures to reflect current regulatory requirements and the Bank’s expectations.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and reports to senior management regarding complaints, disputes, fraud, and other reporting metrics available through the assigned business lines of Loan Program to detect potential compliance concerns.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the assigned business lines, including Loan Programs, SP CMS, and operating environment.
  • Completes annual regulatory compliance training assignments by their respective due dates.
  • Timely respond to customers regarding written disputes and/or complaints.
  • Timely prepare accurate monthly reporting metrics for the Board, Audit and Compliance Committee packets.
  • Stays informed on the regulatory environment and emerging industry trends, regulatory changes, and other relevant laws and statutes.
  • Compliance vendor management and due diligence oversight; including vendor contract review, SP corporate governance and vendor onboarding process oversight, vendor compliance risk assessment and regulatory applicability assessment, alignment within the Bank’s CMS.
