First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to join the team in our Human Resources Group. The Senior Compensation Analyst collaborates with the Compensation Manager to design, administer and govern the Bank's compensation programs and practices including, but not limited to incentive compensation, base salary and deferred compensation. This role leads the Bank's performance management and salary review process. In addition, the Senior Compensation Analyst works closely with the Compensation Manager supporting executive compensation programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, or related field; and/or equivalent work experience required.
  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, with a strong focus on compensation, payroll, or related areas.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Excel, including development of spreadsheets with formulas, functions, pivot tables and lookups.
  • Working knowledge of Peoplesoft or other HR system highly recommended.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidance and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential, highly sensitive information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, CCP or similar certification preferred.
  • Financial services industry experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in administering incentive programs highly desirable.
  • Skilled in identifying market trends and aligning compensation strategies accordingly.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to balance organizational needs with employee satisfaction.
  • Self-motivated to work collaboratively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Compensation Manager to design, administer and govern the Bank's compensation programs and practices.
  • Lead the Bank's performance management and salary review process.
  • Support executive compensation programs.
  • Administer incentive compensation and base salary programs.
  • Analyze large data sets to assess complex compensation issues.
  • Provide actionable recommendations on compensation strategies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on compensation-related decisions.
  • Manage multiple compensation projects and deadlines.
