About The Position

Gift of Hope is dedicated to coordinating organ and tissue donation in the northern three-quarters of Illinois and northwest Indiana. Our goal is to provide the highest quality service to families and hospitals as we strive to fulfill our mission of saving and enhancing the lives of as many people as possible through organ and tissue donation. The position involves working collaboratively to establish, maintain, and create partnerships with key community stakeholders to increase organ and tissue donation registration and education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in community relations, business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years' experience in community relations or not-for-profit public relations, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience developing community-based programs and events.
  • Ability to influence support for organ and tissue donation.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Advance Gift of Hope's mission, vision and core values.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
  • Act as an expert in identifying, developing, and strategizing with key community stakeholders.
  • Seek and maintain a visible position with local and state medical associations, departments and committees.
  • Direct and oversee the activities of Ambassadors for Hope volunteers.
  • Identify and drive new opportunities and lead the execution with partners.
  • Complete a minimum of eight (8) community engagements per month.
  • Develop one (1) signature event per year.
  • Develop and execute special events and programs to increase public awareness.
  • Collaborate with Manager, Community Outreach and Governmental Relations to use data for strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with Donation & Family Advocates, Donation Coordinators and Donation Liaisons.
  • Contribute to the monthly newsletter and social media platforms.
  • Precept new team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
