About The Position

As a Senior Communications and Proposal Coordinator at Isthmus Engineering, you will join a talented and dedicated communications team that collaborates with our leadership and technical teams to capture and share the authentic stories of our projects and people. The responsibilities for the position of Senior Communications and Proposal Coordinator include: Proposal Development (75%) This is a hands-on role which requires versatility, resilience, and a steadfast attention to detail while maintaining a collaborative approach to developing winning proposals. Graphic Design & Collateral (20%) Support the development of engaging and authentic digital content which celebrates the unique culture and capabilities of the Isthmus team. Create polished, on-brand graphics, project sheets, presentations, and event material. Event Support (5%) Support the planning and execution of outreach events and conferences. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or similar field.
  • Eight or more years of professional experience in a communications, business development, or marketing role.
  • Hands-on experience in the development of technical proposals, including writing, editing, layout, and meeting agency requirements (required). AEC industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within an established brand and adhering to client-specific style guides.
  • Strong proficiency and demonstrated experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign (required) and Illustrator and Photoshop (preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft tools, including Word and PowerPoint (required). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint (preferred).
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to turn complex concepts into concise, relatable content.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, including working extended hours as needed.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deliver results in an autonomous environment.
  • Collaborative, team-focused attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of visual design principles for readability (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ADA document accessibility guidelines (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, write, and edit proposals, including SOQs, LOIs, and RFP responses.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to synthesize content.
  • Coordinate with project partners to provide or request proposal content.
  • Layout and produce proposal documents.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of proposal documents.
  • Guide preparation for project-procurement interviews and develop associated presentations.
  • Develop and maintain service area content, resumes, and project sheets.
  • Contribute to innovation, best practices, and efficiency to support effective data management and successful project pursuits.
  • Support the development of engaging and authentic digital content which celebrates the unique culture and capabilities of the Isthmus team.
  • Create polished, on-brand graphics, project sheets, presentations, and event material.
  • Support the planning and execution of outreach events and conferences.
  • Assist with award submissions and other external communication initiatives.
