Houston in Action seeks a Senior Communications Strategist to lead narrative-shifting, equity-centered communications that move people to action. Houston in Action is a non-partisan collective uniting people and organizations across Greater Houston and El Paso to dismantle systemic barriers to civic participation. Our network includes community-based organizations, grassroots leaders, academic institutions, and philanthropic partners, all working collaboratively to amplify community voices and influence public systems. We focus on empowering historically excluded groups—particularly Black, Latinx, AAPI communities, women, youth, and low-income residents—through coordinated campaigns, shared resources, and long-term policy change. Our team operates remotely, holding in-person meetings and events from our Houston Museum District office.
