The position involves reviewing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) design documents such as drawings, Specifications (Specs), The Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), and Bases of Design (BOD) to evaluate energy efficiency. Responsibilities include performing measurement, verification, commissioning, and retro-commissioning, as well as preparing and developing Pre-Functional and Functional Testing forms in compliance with green building practices. The role requires collecting data for energy conservation analyses through jobsite observation, field inspections, or submetering, and conducting periodic site visits for observation and acceptance of Pre-Functional tests. Inspecting or monitoring energy systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), to determine energy use or potential energy savings is also a key responsibility. The position entails carrying out Functional Tests (FT) of MEP equipment on site to verify the proper installation of new or relocated HVAC equipment per green building practices, preparing energy-related project reports or related documentation, and preparing documents like Current Facility Requirement (CFR) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) plans, Systems Manuals, Ongoing Commissioning (Cx) plans, and Cx summary reports post FT. Additionally, the role includes performing reviewed Post-Occupancy reviews and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
