The position involves reviewing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) design documents such as drawings, Specifications (Specs), The Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), and Bases of Design (BOD) to evaluate energy efficiency. Responsibilities include performing measurement, verification, commissioning, and retro-commissioning, as well as preparing and developing Pre-Functional and Functional Testing forms in compliance with green building practices. The role requires collecting data for energy conservation analyses through jobsite observation, field inspections, or submetering, and conducting periodic site visits for observation and acceptance of Pre-Functional tests. Inspecting or monitoring energy systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), to determine energy use or potential energy savings is also a key responsibility.
