About The Position

This is a senior-level commercial underwriting role for an experienced professional capable of independently underwriting complex risks while serving as a technical and consultative resource. The position offers significant autonomy, extensive agency interaction, and strategic influence within an assigned territory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3–8+ years of commercial underwriting experience, including complex accounts
• Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills
• Ability to operate independently with advanced underwriting authority
• Willingness to travel regularly within assigned territory

Nice To Haves

• insurance designations (CPCU, ARM, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

• Independently underwrite and price complex commercial risks within established authority
• Analyze financials, loss history, inspections, and market data to support underwriting decisions
• Serve as a technical advisor to underwriting peers, sales teams, and agency partners
• Build and maintain strong agency relationships and support complex negotiations
• Manage territory portfolio performance and new business production
• Monitor market trends and contribute to underwriting strategy and innovation
• Mentor and share expertise to support team development
