About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking to appoint a Senior Commercial Manager to work on exciting Rail Infrastructure developments. The Senior Commercial Manager will play a key role in delivering value, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring project profitability and compliance.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, and other standard forms of contract.
Expertise in cost control, procurement, and contract negotiation.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical, financial, and commercial acumen.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in commercial software (e.g., CATO, CostX, SAP, Oracle).
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 7+ years of commercial experience in large-scale infrastructure or rail projects.
Proven track record in managing multi-million-dollar contracts and commercial teams.

Nice To Haves

Chartered status (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead commercial strategy and execution across all phases of rail construction projects.
Manage and mentor commercial teams including Quantity Surveyors and Contract Administrators.
Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal requirements, and company policies.
Prepare and present commercial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Support claims management, dispute resolution, and final account settlements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external partners to ensure commercial success.
