The role will report directly into Abcam’s General Counsel and is based at Abcam’s Waltham site, in MA, US. This role works directly with associates at all levels of the business, from individual contributors to senior leadership, in many different functional areas, including: Commercial (sales, marketing and business development) Product (development and management) Operations (supply chain, manufacturing, EH&S, real estate, etc.) Compliance and Enablement (QARA/MAPPS, etc.) You will be motivated to be part of a highly regarded team looking to build a fantastic legal function by offering true solutions led support. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: To be a person of influence at Abcam’s Waltham site, serving as one of the legal and compliance team’s primary contacts in the US. Managing a team consisting of a contracts manager and paralegal helping to build efficient contracting processes through our CLM and working on continuous process improvement initiatives Being the legal lead for our global sales and business development teams and support negotiating and drafting MSAs, custom development agreements, supply agreements, licenses, collaboration agreements, research agreements etc. Partnering with specialist attorneys, both within Abcam/Danaher and externally, on IP, employment, regulatory, compliance, M&A, joint venture/strategic partnership, and other matters and manage US based disputes, including litigations Developing and providing training for the global business with respect to legal issues, policies, and procedures.
