Requirements

  • BS or BA degree in Business or a related field along with specialized education in commercial property appraisal theory and application.
  • Licensed as a state certified appraiser in New York and/or Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience completing a wide variety of commercial appraisal and appraisal review assignments.
  • In-depth knowledge of USPAP is required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
  • Personal computer proficiency including an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior commercial real estate lending experience helpful, but not required.
  • Solid experience dealing with complex appraisal assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Bank’s Commercial Appraisal Manager in the commissioning and review process.
  • Commissions new appraisals supporting commercial loan transactions.
  • Fields questions from fee appraisers and clarifies Bank requirements.
  • Researches issues and discusses with account officer and Commercial Appraisal Manager as needed.
  • Negotiates the fee structures with appraisal firms.
  • Reviews commercial appraisals in-line with bank policy.
  • Exercises independent decision-making authority in the resolution of appraisal issues.
