About The Position
The Senior Collections Representative (Rep.) - Government Unit at the University of California San Francisco is a pivotal role focused on managing collections for government-related accounts. This position requires a proactive approach to follow up with payers regarding non-payments, underpayments, or incorrect payments. The Rep. is tasked with calculating expected reimbursements to ensure that the payments received align with what was anticipated. This involves filing disputes with payers for any denials or underpayments and reconciling accounts to closure. In this role, the Rep. must possess a thorough understanding of the assigned payer claim requirements and regulations. The position demands the ability to utilize multiple databases and applications effectively to analyze information and documents received. Key applications and databases include EPIC, Hospital Rates, CIRIUS, RevCyclePro, Imaging, DDE, and various payer websites. The Rep. will frequently interact with Patient Financial Services staff, various departments, management, patients, and vendors involved in billing and collection services. This collaborative environment requires strong communication skills and the ability to navigate complex financial scenarios efficiently.
