About The Position

Become part of a dynamic group of skilled technical service professionals! Our Technical Services department helps to build the Hempel brand reputation by inspiring confidence from the end user. As technical services authorities, we offer knowledge, experience, and training to accompany our best-in-class products. Finally, we collaborate with our internal colleagues to ensure proper and peak application and performance of Hempel products. As a Coating Advisor at Hempel, you'll be on the front lines working alongside applicators, distributors, contractors, engineers, and consultants to ensure proper use and application of Hempel's products. Working with our direct customers, you will strive to understand their needs, their challenges and provide services that can support and strengthen our coating solutions, to bring value that can be monetized. You'll work closely with a team of Hempel colleagues from Sales, R D, Customer Care, and other internal functions to deliver exceptional service to the end user.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively (85%) domestically and internationally.
  • Based in the Houston or Dallas, TX area or open to relocating.
  • Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Marine, Rail, and/or Wind Coatings.
  • Prior experience in line and production auditing.
  • English business proficiency (oral and written).
  • English-Spanish bilingual skills are highly valued.
  • Basic level of MS Office and basic computer efficiency.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Bring Hempel products to peak performance.
  • Offer technical advisory support on all aspects of Hempel products.
  • Communicate the features and benefits of all products and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Product Data Sheets, guide specifications, and best practices.
  • Accurately collect and record data, prepare work progress reports.
  • Provide onsite training to coatings applicators and Hempel's Sales teams.
  • Educate and persuade customers about the performance of coating solutions.
  • Generate accurate company and customer reports and distribute them timely.
  • Use PPE and technical equipment responsibly and ensure equipment is maintained.
  • Monitor and lead project paint inventory and provide updates to Sales.
  • Participate in internal and external Technical Services strategy activities.
