About The Position

GHD has a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Maritime and Coastal (M&C) practice in the Pacific Northwest! As Senior Coastal Scientist/Project Manager you will use your experience and knowledge to be involved in exciting projects that will offer an opportunity to provide technical solutions and support business development. You will serve as a senior advisor and provide design leadership, project management services, client management, and business development support, relating to M&C projects. Further, you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team on sophisticated and innovative projects, support in the training and mentorship of engineers and other technicians, and become part of our internal leadership team. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review performance against health, safety, and environment (HSE) key performance indicators (KPIs) and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility.
• Take action to improve performance and to resolve noncompliance with the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions.
• Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
• Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.
• Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs.
• Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities.
• Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
• Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team.
• Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
• Participate in and contribute to a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to build own capability and develop innovative practice among colleagues.
• Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
• Gather information and resources, draft and complete proposals, and fulfill all process requirements in response to complex bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender.
