About The Position

In this role, you will support, develop, and optimize machining processes for aerospace and industrial gas turbine components across NPI, Repair, and OEM programs. You will lead mid-sized technical projects, create and refine CNC programs, and use Lean thinking to improve quality, efficiency, and overall business performance. This position blends hands-on CNC programming, deep manufacturing knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration, working both in the office and on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • Strong CAM 5-axis Mill programming experience, preferably using Siemens NX or GibbsCAM
  • Deep knowledge of machining methods, materials, tooling, and process optimization
  • Experience machining aerospace materials such as Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum alloys
  • Ability to interpret GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications
  • Solid understanding of gas turbine manufacturing processes and 3D CAD modeling
  • Experience with inspection methods such as CMM, laser/white-light scanning, and precision gages
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of experience in the Aerospace or Power Generation industry is preferred
  • 2-year Technical Diploma is preferred
  • Industry-recognized CNC or machining certifications a plus
  • Familiarity with Siemens Sinumerik, FANUC, and Heidenhain controls, macro programming, and probing (a plus)
  • Knowledge of FAA PMA and RS-DER requirements (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize machining processes for new and repaired turbine, compressor, and stator components
  • Create CNC programs directly from CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Support fixture design, tooling selection, and process implementation
  • Prove out programs on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, lathes, mill/turn, grinders, and EDM equipment
  • Support first-article builds and ensure smooth transition to production
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and continuously improve cycle time, tool life, and process capability
  • Maintain controlled CNC programs and shop-level procedures
  • Build 3D models from blueprints to support programming and fixture design
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges
  • Present technical work to internal and external stakeholders
