About the job We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Senior Software CloudOps Engineer to join our CloudOps organization. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and is passionate about building scalable, cloud-native solutions that support modern SaaS delivery models and developer platforms.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software development or DevOps roles.
  • Proficiency in NodeJS and Typescript; experience with Java is a plus.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPNs, load balancers, firewalls).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Bicep, ARM, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with Azure services including AKS, Key Vault, App Gateway, and API Management.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate issues and solutions
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • General knowledge of software development tools, methodologies, and principles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., n8n).
  • Exposure to developer experience platforms or internal developer portals.
  • Experience with message queuing technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Redis, or Kafka.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications and services that support workflow automations, developer enablement, and platform automation.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams across the globe to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions.
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI technologies to drive innovation across automation initiatives.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement in development processes and tooling.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps to support automated testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes-based deployments using Helm and Docker, with a focus on Azure infrastructure.
  • Develop APIs and microservices using NodeJS and Typescript, with potential contributions in Kotlin.
  • Contribute to workflow automation, developer experience tooling, and integration with third-party systems.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.
  • Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
