We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Specialist with a strong background in Azure Networking, Azure Virtual Desktops, and process automations to help us grow. The ideal candidate will also have a basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices, helping our security team members evaluate and understand new developments for compliance with CMMC requirements (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification). This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or be based in one of our five offices located in Alexandria, Lynchburg, Richmond, VA; Raleigh, NC; and Atlanta, GA.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Azure Networking and Azure Virtual Desktops, along with experience with remote device management using programs such as Microsoft Intune and NinjaOne.
  • The ideal candidate will have familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • This position requires excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have knowledge of network and authentication protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience with firms that must process and store Federal DoD data; specifically, knowledge of CMMC requirements and compliance processes.
  • It is desirable that the candidate possess knowledge of end-point security, including firewalls, IPS, anti-virus, and authorization protocols.
  • It is desirable that the candidate holds a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Preference will also be given for experience in an organization utilizing Azure Virtual Desktop with graphics intensive programs such as BIM and/or CAD software in virtualized environments.
  • Knowledge of additional Microsoft Azure services, such as Purview, File Storage, LogicApps, and EntraID, is highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of network architecture and security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Azure Management and Automation: The Senior Cloud Solutions Specialist will administer and maintain our Azure Networking and Virtual Desktop environments to ensure reliability and security across all systems. This includes monitoring performance, addressing system interruptions, and implementing business process automations by integrating tools such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Azure. Collaboration will be key, as the role requires close coordination with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and third-party consultants to identify and implement technology-driven process improvements.
  • IT Support: The Specialist will provide IT support to end-users and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues. This includes resolving system outages, ensuring seamless performance, and communicating technical information effectively to non-technical team members.
  • Cybersecurity: The role involves managing cybersecurity tools and responding to incidents flagged by our third-party cybersecurity partner. You will contribute to the company's overall security posture by applying cybersecurity principles, investigating incidents, and supporting preparation for CMMC compliance by implementing security requirements into Azure systems.
  • Network Administration: The Specialist will oversee network infrastructure, including switches and firewalls, as well as manage SSL certificates, DNS hosting, and in-office Wi-Fi devices. Ensuring that network security protocols are up-to-date and effective will be a critical aspect of this role.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support IT needs for various projects. Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical staff. Collaborate with our in-house PowerApps solution specialist to integrate process automations. PowerApps experience is not required; you will handle the handoff between PowerApps and Azure automations. Collaborate and serve as the Wiley|Wilson point of contact on AI initiatives executed by our affiliate AI company.
