About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect & Team Lead in our Chantilly, VA office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team. You are accountable for defining the architectural standards, leading Day 0 engagements with tenants, and ensuring all deployed solutions are secure, scalable, and resilient within the Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) environment. What you'll do: Function as technical leader and strategic face of our Professional Services Team in support of our private cloud-based system Lead technical discussions with government tenants to understand application requirements and map tenant workloads to RHOSP services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance). Conduct Day 0 Architecture Analysis and design reviews, providing expert guidance on mapping tenant workloads to the private cloud's services and capabilities. Define and provide program reference architectures and best practices for tenant consumption of RHOSP resources, including network segmentation and multi-availability zone designs. Serve as the final approver for complex tenant cloud designs before they proceed to the integration phase Collaborate with program system architects and engineers along with our government customer Maintain partnership with Red Hat vendor to stay up to date with the latest advancements in Red Hat products and industry best practices to maintain effective and innovative infrastructures

Requirements

  • This position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
  • Associates degree and 14+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related field and 12+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR a master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related field and 10+ years of experience in a systems engineering related field. Additional four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Meet DoD 8140 foundational requirements for a System Developer with a proficiency of advanced.
  • Minimum of 7+ years in Cloud Architecture, Consulting, or Technical Leadership, with significant experience in design for large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) components, APIs, and operational best practices
  • 8-10 years with multiple Red Hat products such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) , OpenShift , Ansible , OpenStack , and Satellite
  • Proficiency in Linux systems administration, cloud computing, and virtualization, with a strong understanding of both public and private cloud environments.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills in leading a team and coordination with customers / tenants
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: Strong preference for Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) or equivalent high-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS/GCP Professional).
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps methodologies
  • A solid grasp of enterprise networking, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize performance.
  • Ability to learn independently, adapt to an evolving environment, and stay current with industry trends.
