Brooksource is searching for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our enterprise financial services partner's Cloud Center of Excellence initiative in Charlotte, NC. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, with 4 days per week spent in the office in uptown Charlotte. This position is structured as a 12-month Contract to Hire opportunity. The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will provide significant contributions in the design, coding, testing, support, and debugging of software and enhancements to existing software specifically focused on Public Cloud solutions. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure as code solutions and tools for our cloud-based systems and applications. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud infrastructure adheres to industry best practices and regulatory compliance standards. The work involves designing, developing, and prototyping cloud-deployed services, APIs, and serverless applications using infrastructure as code (Terraform) to enable business capabilities in alignment with architecture direction and standards. The engineer will improve the enterprise Cloud Platform through the implementation of custom preventative and responsive controls. They will lead the development and deployment of new features and tooling to solve complex problems at scale. Participation in an agile delivery process is essential, where the engineer will help size stories and own, research, and recommend new solutions. Additionally, they will aid in the implementation of monitoring using various tools, collection of metrics to enhance visibility, and implement alerting to enhance service reliability. The engineer will also develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to infrastructure deployment patterns and best practices.
