About The Position

This is a high-impact, technically sophisticated role for an experienced cloud engineer passionate about building scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native platforms and CI/CD pipelines that support distributed engineering teams across multiple regions. The role involves leveraging infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and observability tools to enhance platform reliability, security, and developer experience. You will lead migrations, optimize cloud resources, and implement GitOps principles while mentoring peers and promoting operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to influence cloud strategy, work with modern AWS services, and contribute to the success of a large, globally distributed engineering organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience managing AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Terragrunt, and CDK
  • 4+ years orchestrating containerized workloads at scale using Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, and associated tools (ArgoCD, Istio)
  • 4+ years managing CI/CD frameworks in distributed engineering organizations using GitHub Actions
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Node.js, or GoLang
  • Proven ability to design cost-efficient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions leveraging AWS services (EC2, Lambda, Fargate, CloudFront, IAM, Route53, DynamoDB)
  • Experience configuring and managing observability platforms in large-scale distributed environments
  • Knowledge of incident response practices, resilience engineering, and blameless post-mortems
  • Strong communication, documentation, and mentorship skills; ability to work independently in a remote-first environment

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Terragrunt, and legacy CloudFormation/CDK frameworks
  • Manage containerized workloads and orchestrate services on EKS, ECS, and other AWS services
  • Lead the migration of legacy pipelines to modern CI/CD solutions, utilizing GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
  • Implement and maintain observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog or CloudWatch
  • Promote GitOps principles and infrastructure-as-code practices across engineering teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture strategy and operational best practices
  • Document designs, processes, and decisions, while mentoring peers and supporting knowledge sharing

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $157,675–$213,325 USD for most U.S. locations, adjusted for high-cost areas
  • Flexible remote-first work environment supporting work-life balance
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • Generous parental leave and support for diverse family structures
  • Professional development opportunities and a culture of teaching and learning
  • Inclusive and collaborative environment fostering diversity, equity, and innovation
