About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in the United States. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and operation of secure, resilient, and scalable cloud platforms that support mission-critical applications and cyber training capabilities. You will manage multi-tenant cloud environments, ensuring compliance with strict security frameworks and regulations while enabling efficient training orchestration. The role involves close collaboration with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, networking, and operations teams to deliver robust cloud solutions. You will drive automation, cost optimization, and operational excellence across cloud infrastructure, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural standards and repeatable processes. This position offers a dynamic environment with the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud technologies and make a direct impact on critical training operations.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in cloud/platform engineering with at least 5 years focused on AWS delivering secure, scalable, production-grade systems
  • DoD 8570/8140 compliance: IAT II (Security+) required; IAT III/CISSP or CASP+ preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related technical field
  • Proven experience with multi-account AWS environments, VPC architectures, hybrid connectivity, and security frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of FedRAMP, RMF, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust architectures, encryption/key management, and compliance automation
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills; capable of working with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, high-availability cloud architectures using AWS services such as EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, Load Balancers, Route 53, and API Gateway
  • Implement Zero Trust principles, enforce security controls, and manage compliance with RMF, DISA STIGs, and DoD Cloud Computing SRG guidelines (IL2–IL6)
  • Develop and maintain landing zones, IAM policies, network connectivity, and hybrid routing for multi-domain cloud environments
  • Automate infrastructure configuration, STIG application, and monitoring using IaC, logging, and metrics tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Config)
  • Provide Tier 3 support, incident response, and on-call rotations to ensure operational continuity and platform reliability
  • Collaborate with agile teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into platform capabilities and present cloud solutions to leadership and accreditation authorities
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices, design reviews, and repeatable cloud processes
