About The Position

Overview: The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for implementing and automating secure, scalable AWS infrastructure to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital enterprise systems and the Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM). This role ensures high availability, performance, cost efficiency and compliance for cloud-hosted workloads, including genomics research and clinical-grade data analysis. The engineer also partners with multi-cloud architects and DevOps engineers to translate high-level design concepts into operational solutions and ensure seamless integration between infrastructure and application delivery pipelines, enabling development teams to build and deploy securely and efficiently. Job Description Summary: Designs, develops, manages and supports information systems solutions. Manages the software applications, databases, network infrastructure, and other technology solutions to support NCH's information needs. Collaborates with stakeholders to define business needs and translate those needs into information systems solutions. Installs, configures and supports information systems. Integrates servers, storage devices, and networking equipment, with software solutions and databases to create functional information systems. Maintains information systems by monitoring, identifying and resolving operational and software issues. Defines system operational policies and procedures. Protects information systems and implements security measures for the organization's data and information systems. Monitors cybersecurity threats and ensures information systems are compliant with NCH information assurance policies. Provides technical support to end-users and resolves information system issues. Diagnoses hardware or software problems, addresses connectivity issues, and assists users with software applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5 years of applicable Information Technologies experience, required.
  • Working knowledge of NCH main hospital (locations of clinics and services) and all regional clinics and care centers.
  • Understanding of how the NCH IS Departments and teams work together to provide services to our users.
  • Technical aptitude with working knowledge of fundamental operations of Windows software and clinical software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NCH complex IS systems, how they work together to provide services to our users.
  • Strong skills in use of PC desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in relevant area preferred.
  • Clinical Licensure and/or other certifications preferred.
  • Health care experience, preferred.
