About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer who thrives on designing scalable, secure cloud systems and enabling data-driven decision-making. In this role, you’ll own critical parts of our cloud infrastructure, data ingestion pipelines, and security posture—helping ensure our platform is reliable, efficient, and ready to scale. About AnswersNow: AnswersNow is a venture-backed digital health company delivering virtual autism care to families. Our mission is to empower and enhance the lives of those affected by autism by making personalized therapy more accessible. We connect families with expert clinicians quickly — often moving from assessment to therapy within weeks, without waitlists or commutes — and deliver outcomes that parents describe as life-changing. Why this role matters: Our platform is mission-critical — families and clinicians rely on it every day. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems are secure, cost-efficient, observable, and scalable as we grow. You’ll work at the intersection of infrastructure, data, and security, helping the company operate with confidence while enabling engineering teams to move fast without breaking things. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys ownership, systems-level thinking, and making pragmatic tradeoffs in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in cloud, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with AWS (VPC, IAM, EC2/ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Experience designing and operating ETL or data ingestion pipelines, ideally involving third-party vendors or external data sources.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals and best practices.
  • Experience optimizing cloud costs in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Node.js, Bash, or similar).
  • Ability to think in systems: solving problems quickly while designing for long-term resilience.
  • A strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and integrity.
  • A collaborative mindset—you enjoy working across engineering, data, and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and evolve our AWS cloud infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines to support fast, safe, and repeatable deployments.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines that ingest data from third-party vendors and internal systems into our data warehouse.
  • Partner with data and product teams to ensure data is accurate, timely, and well-modeled for analytics and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives around cloud security, including IAM best practices, infrastructure hardening, monitoring, and compliance support.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting to protect uptime and quickly surface issues.
  • Drive AWS cost optimization, identifying inefficiencies and implementing tooling, budgets, and architectural improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with application engineers to improve deployment processes, system performance, and developer experience.
  • Act as a technical owner for cloud systems, balancing immediate needs with long-term platform health.

Benefits

  • Stock options and meaningful ownership in company growth.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Remote-first team with flexible work environment.
  • Flexible hours with an async-friendly team culture
