Global Atlantic Financial Company (a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited) is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Cloud Engineer in Des Moines, Iowa. Centralized cloud engineering and operational team member focused on operating AWS cloud, assisting teams in DevOps activities, and management of a self-service cloud platform. Deliver cloud services and/or infrastructure in alignment with target architecture. Design, deploy, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS. Accountable for operational monitoring, management, incident escalation, and reporting functions. Serve as technical project manager for various projects. Optimize performance and capacity and ensure proper resource management regardless of the platform used or infrastructure location. Implement best practices for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Auto Scaling and VPC. Manage cloud networking including VPCs, Security Groups, Route 53, Route Tables, Transit Gateways. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Set-up and manage GitLab/GitHub repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and version control best practices. Automate software development process using GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions and AWS Code Pipeline. Troubleshoot and optimize workflows for containerized applications (Docker, ECS). Deploy, scale, and manage containerized workloads using Docker, ECS with EC2. Manage and configure JFrog artifactory for artifact storage, retrieval and versioning. Automate artifact publishing and retrieval in CI/CD pipelines. Configure, manage and optimize Druva backup solutions for AWS workloads. Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, and Powershell to streamline cloud operations and deployments. Partner with Information Security Risk Management and Security Operations on the building and maintenance of cloud workloads to ensure initial and on-going compliance with security guidance and best practices. Oversee patching and vulnerability remediation activities as part of Vulnerability Remediation as a Service (VRaaS) function and ensure performance of same. Perform cost planning, monitoring, management, and reporting to maintain transparency and proper metering. Manage and maintain shared infrastructure and DevOps tooling, such as GitLab, AWS CodePipeline, Saltstack, Artifactory, Sonarqube, New Relic, and CloudHealth. Provide DevOps expertise and coaching related to deploying and configuring IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) resources. Lend DevOps capacity to projects and other initiatives across the IT landscape. Participate in the selection of, manage and partner with cloud vendors for the purpose of providing redundancy and cloud operations capacity. Aid the Cloud Architect in assessing projects for approval and implementation based on predefined architecture standards. Create, manage, and prioritize a backlog of work, including requests for assistance, remediation work, and operational tasks. Meet service level agreements made to business teams and ensure proper disaster recovery processes and risk mitigation. Work across traditional technology infrastructure and cloud computing environments.
