Job Summary: The Senior Cloud Engineer leads the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based systems to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure. This role demands advanced technical expertise in cloud technologies, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years in cloud engineering, with proven experience leading cloud initiatives and mentoring teams.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation), and automation tools.
  • Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise-scale DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks and zero-trust architecture.
  • Familiarity with cost optimization strategies and cloud financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and Lead Cloud Solutions: Design and oversee the deployment of complex, modular cloud architectures tailored to business needs.
  • Optimize and Maintain Infrastructure: Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of cloud environments through proactive monitoring and automation.
  • Resolve Complex Issues: Lead root cause analysis and resolution of infrastructure and deployment challenges, including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with engineering, development, and security teams to align cloud strategies with organizational goals.
  • Mentorship and Training: Guide junior engineers and stakeholders on cloud best practices, emerging technologies, and implementation strategies.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to cloud governance frameworks, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
