Who You Are We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who loves problem solving, scalable solutions, and a fast-changing environment. You’ll be working sidelong with other Cloud Engineers on projects in our Kubernetes environments: writing robust services in Golang, scaffolding seed infrastructure in Terraform, and shaping the cloud infrastructure that keeps everything running smoothly. This is a hands-on engineering role, demanding excellent technical acumen and some pre-existing knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem. Work environment: Hybrid (onsite 2-3 days a week) in our Davie, FL office. Must reside near our office location.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, centered around Golang.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, and orchestration — especially Kubernetes and Terraform, but by no means excluding containerization topics like Docker and Dockerfiles.
  • Experience using any popular cloud provider environment - Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.
  • Comfort with scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, and Python, with a particular preference to Bash.
  • Understanding of the Linux OS environment, including popular shell scripting commands like sed, grep, awk, and others.
  • A strong understanding of system architecture and modern DevOps principles and practices.
  • Strong communication skills — you can explain complex topics clearly and document them well.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing Kubernetes Operators using operator‑sdk.
  • Deep experience in Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
  • Advanced skills in C# or Python beyond scripting.
  • Understanding of the Datadog observability platform.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on (and occasionally lead) backend and infrastructure projects built in Golang, Terraform, and Kubernetes with a majority of your time spent in Golang.
  • Build and manage automation across environments using Bash, PowerShell, or Python. We prefer Bash, but we're open to whatever skillset you can bring to the table here.
  • Work closely with development teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot, and design reliable solutions.
  • Deliver clear and precise documentation regarding the new features and systems you'll be composing
  • Champion reliability, scalability, observability, and strong software design across the organization.
  • Foster BHG’s Positive Mental Attitude culture with optimism, timely communication, and an indomitable spirit.

Benefits

  • Medical/Rx/Dental/Vision coverage for employees and their eligible family members
  • Competitive PTO and vacation policies
  • 1 Friday off each month for Wellness Weekends
  • Company 401(k) plan with employer contributions after one year
  • Company-sponsored training and certification opportunities
  • Quarterly award ceremonies where top achievers are celebrated and receive additional bonuses
  • Ongoing volunteer opportunities to give back to the community through our BHG Cares program
