The Sr Cloud Engineer is responsible for ensuring successful implementations, accompanying operational processes, support and documentation of cloud and hybrid cloud projects, primarily, but not limited to utilizing Microsoft Azure. This role will require skills working with various teams to collaborate on cloud/hybrid cloud based solutions. The Sr Cloud Engineer will oversee and participate in all phases of the infrastructure life cycle including needs analysis, planning, design, implementation, operation and maintenance. The Sr Cloud Engineer will work directly with the Director of Technical Operations to create and maintain the capital and operating budget as approved by the Firm.

  • Ensure successful implementations and operational processes for cloud and hybrid cloud projects.
  • Collaborate with various teams on cloud/hybrid cloud based solutions.
  • Oversee and participate in all phases of the infrastructure life cycle.
  • Work with the Director of Technical Operations on budget maintenance.
  • Design and implement secure Azure architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Build and manage reusable IaC modules incorporating Azure security best practices.
  • Participate in firm-wide IT projects and systems designs.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operational activities related to cloud operations.
  • Design, develop and maintain processes for application deployments and infrastructure as a service.
  • Define and implement access policies for compliance with security posture.
  • Provide cloud-based software development environments and assist with deployments.
  • Develop and execute test plans for performance, security, scalability and recoverability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps and security engineers.
  • Maintain operational alignment with the Firm's data retention policy.
  • Execute test plans for data protection of cloud services.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC reporting controls.
  • Track, manage and optimize cloud operational costs.
  • Report findings and make recommendations for cloud systems improvement.
  • Mentor and develop technical staff in new technology.
  • Provide after hours and on-call support for all systems.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Azure foundational configurations.
  • Experience with One Drive, Teams, Azure AD, SSO, Exchange Online.
  • Understanding of Azure cost analytics and licensing.
  • Knowledge of core infrastructure technologies: VMware, Networking, Windows Server, SAN.
  • 1-2 years of team lead or manager level experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in complex IT environments.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Relevant Cloud Certifications preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent, graduate degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of team lead or manager level experience.
