About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This role is located at a client site in Plano, TX. A hybrid working model is acceptable. The Senior Cloud Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and automating cloud-based data solutions that support large-scale analytics and data-driven initiatives. This role focuses on developing automation scripts and infrastructure to support system provisioning, deployment, upgrades, and scaling within AWS environments. The position also involves designing and implementing ETL pipelines that integrate data from multiple operational systems into enterprise data platforms. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the engineer helps drive adoption of strategic technologies across APIs, big data, and analytics while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with cloud best practices.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience working with relational, dimensional, and/or analytical data platforms
Demonstrated experience delivering cloud-based data engineering solutions
Strong hands-on experience developing automation scripts and tools in Python for cloud infrastructure and data platforms
Experience designing and building ETL pipelines to ingest data from diverse operational systems
Proven experience developing solutions on cloud-based architectures, primarily within AWS
Solid background working with relational, dimensional, and analytical data platforms, including RDBMS and NoSQL technologies
Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and enterprise big data platforms
Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and related tooling
Advanced SQL skills with the ability to support complex analytical use cases
Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation and AWS Lambda
Strong working knowledge of Terraform and GitLab
Advanced proficiency in Python development
Good technical acumen across AWS services supporting data-driven projects
Experience collaborating with and guiding teams, with strong communication skills
