You are an experienced security engineer with a strong vision of how modern security infrastructure and operations should be built and managed. You are committed to help shaping a best-in-class security program through continuous improvement. You have a deep understanding of how a cloud native, containerized, multi-tiered application should be architected and are passionate about cutting edge technology. You have proven experience in application security, dev-sec-ops, cloud infrastructure, intrusion prevention/detection, complex security investigations. You work well in demanding, fast-paced environments with rapidly changing requirements. You remain calm under pressure and enjoy problem solving in complex situations. This US-based role can be remote or based out of our New York City office.

  • Provide technical leadership to help shape and research optimal solutions for Dataminr’s robust cybersecurity program with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Secure the deployment of modern containerized microservices and SaaS platforms at scale.
  • Contribute to AWS Dev-Sec-Ops initiatives and GIT ops optimization.
  • Identify risks and gaps within our current state platform and drive future state solutions.
  • Help architect a big-data solution to meaningfully capture and surface security events across terabytes of event logs.
  • Ability to make practical decisions under pressure in a collaborative environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tooling to improve security and velocity, and an understanding of how to secure AI systems across an enterprise.
  • Strong Linux and containerization engineering experience is required.
  • Strong AWS engineering experience is required.
  • Proficiency in modern software development practices including AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Cline etc.), with demonstrated ability to write secure, maintainable code in JavaScript/Node.js, Python, and/or Golang while effectively leveraging AI to accelerate development and security analysis workflows.
  • Either a systems engineering, application development, or devops background or equivalent level of expertise.
  • Experience and knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure, containers, and SaaS applications.
  • Experience managing large projects involving numerous stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of common DevOps tools with ability to contribute to automated workflows, and the desire to contribute to production Dev-Sec-Ops GIT projects.
