About The Position

The Senior Clinician provides community-based clinical oversight, consultation, and support to TASK Staff in coordination with the TASK Director. This role ensures fidelity to the TASK model through ongoing training, supervision, and direct clinical support. The Senior Clinician plays a critical leadership role in supporting clinicians, maintaining high-quality clinical standards, and assisting in programmatic and community-based responsibilities. Some Senior Clinicians may also carry a limited caseload and provide direct care.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in related human services field and two years post degree direct experience with child/adolescent mental health population.
  • Licensed in the state of North Carolina as either an LPC, LCSW or LMFT.
  • Requires knowledge and the ability to practically implement mental health regulations.
  • Must have working knowledge of TASK Model.
  • Must be culturally sensitive to children and families and support cultural diversity throughout the program.
  • Requires effective communication, decision making, analytical, interpersonal, leadership and professionalism skills and abilities.
  • Must have basic computer and math skills.
  • Must have a valid North Carolina’s Driver’s License.
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal, HCPR and driving checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based clinical oversight and consultation to TASK Staff to ensure adherence to the TASK model and clinical best practices.
  • Deliver regularly scheduled, timely clinical supervision, including review of therapeutic interventions, documentation, and adherence to program expectations.
  • Serve as a 24/7 clinical support resource for TASK clinicians and act as a backup on-call clinician for TASK clients.
  • Assist clinicians during crisis situations by supporting assessment, intervention, and development of plans to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
  • Conduct hands-on, face-to-face training by attending, co-facilitating, and monitoring individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with the TASK Director to provide ongoing clinical training and professional development for staff.
  • Review, edit, and ensure accuracy and compliance of clinical documentation, including but not limited to: CESH and CESH addendums CCAs and CCA addendums Progress notes Treatment plans Discharge summaries Assessments, life plans, and stage applications
  • Support staff in identifying and coordinating appropriate external referrals, including step-down, lateral, and higher levels of care.
  • Assist staff in interpreting the TOP and integrating it into individualized treatment planning.
  • Provide clinical support to staff in community-based settings, including Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings and other community meetings, as needed.
  • Maintain Medicaid documentation standards and timelines.
  • Support staff and the TASK Director in advocating for youth and the program in community settings, including schools, JCPC, and JJTC, and assist with community training efforts.
  • Collaborate with the TASK Director in securing and maintaining funding contracts.
  • Assist in developing and implementing a consistent clinical consultation system.
  • Work with the Centralized Scheduler and TASK Director to oversee caseloads, referrals, and utilization.
  • Participate in discussions with referral sources and assist with obtaining required documentation for complete and timely referrals.
  • Ensure TASK Staff maintain required reporting and documentation standards.
  • Provide consultation related to staff utilization and client service needs.
  • Co-facilitate qualitative and compliance peer reviews in collaboration with the TASK Director.
  • Maintain and submit monthly mileage logs for approval by the first Thursday of the following month.
  • Submit business credit card receipts with required details for approval, adhering to approved budgets and timelines.
  • Complete all required trainings on time, including Relias and any other assigned learning platforms.
  • Attend required virtual meetings (e.g., Teams), monthly staffings, and quarterly staffings.
  • Ensure 24-hour on-call availability for clients and families and maintain accurate emergency contact information on all communication platforms.
  • Arrange appropriate coverage when taking PTO or when unavailable during on-call periods.
  • Maintain professionalism when addressing concerns from clients, families, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Engage in monthly and as-needed supervision with the TASK Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the TASK Director.
  • Provide clinical oversight and consultation to TASK Staff.
  • Formal supervisory authority remains with the TASK Director.
