About The Position

Responsible for portfolio planning for clinical trials, this role plays a key part in enabling strategic decisions through data-driven planning, budgeting, and resource management. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional leaders to support the entire lifecycle of clinical studies while enhancing operational efficiency and visibility. Work model, sponsorship, relocation: At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years' experience in Clinical Research.
  • 2+ years' experience in clinical operations, budgeting, and metrics development.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including building cross-functional relationships across geographies and influencing business outcomes indirectly.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to diagnose complex business problems and develop long-term strategic solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience, training, or certification in Data Analytics, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience designing and implementing portfolio metrics, KPIs, and analytic frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and strategies into concise business plans.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, or Strategy is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and portfolio analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the reporting and analysis of long-range strategic plans and ad hoc projects, including development of financial models and presentations for senior management.
  • Collaborate with Finance to drive the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Quarterly Financial Forecasts to meet business requirements and timelines.
  • Implement and oversee budget modeling tools to determine costs and resource needs for clinical trials.
  • Analyze current clinical study costs to identify opportunities for process improvement and outsourcing efficiencies.
  • Evaluate and recommend financial value improvement processes (VIPs).
  • Create and refine portfolio management processes, reports, metrics, and best practices.
  • Leverage data analytics to build consensus and inform strategic decisions.
  • Report monthly on clinical study status, process improvement initiatives, and HCP contracting.
  • Lead continued refinement and improvement of internal performance metrics.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Project Portfolio Management System (PPMS), overseeing tool functionality and optimization.
  • Conduct portfolio headcount reporting and analysis.
  • Support analysis and projection requests related to clinical spend and returns in collaboration with Corporate and Division Finance and Portfolio Management teams.
