About The Position

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff. The role of Senior Clinical Nurse Educator serves all aspects of nursing in the clinical setting: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.

  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
  • BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT) - Compact RN Multistate
  • Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Five (5) years' nursing experience and two (2) years' facilitating learning/professional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Leads committee, work groups and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities.
  • Serves as consultant/mentor/change agent to staff, clinical leaders, and others.
  • Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).
  • Synthesizes evaluation data to guide decision-making about educational programming.
  • Disseminates research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement findings through activities such as presentations, publications, and consultation.
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goal, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools.
  • Conducts or contributes to nursing research.
