Summary: Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff. The role of Senior Clinical Nurse Educator serves all aspects of nursing in the clinical setting: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader. Background in Critical Care or Emergency Flexibility with traveling to all 6 Memorial hospitals

Requirements

• Background in Critical Care or Emergency
• Flexibility with traveling to all 6 Memorial hospitals
• Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Five (5) years' nursing experience and two (2) years' facilitating learning/professional development.
• Masters (Required)
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)

Nice To Haves

• Specialty certification preferred.
• Master's degree can be in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, Health Information Management, Business Administration/Management, Education, or Information Technology.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and/or contributes to nursing research.
• Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Disseminates research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement findings through activities such as presentations, publications, and consultation.
• Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools.
• Serves as consultant/mentor/change agent to staff, clinical leaders, and others as appropriate.
• Synthesizes evaluation data to guide decision-making about educational programming.
• Assists with developing specific departmental goal, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• Leads committee, work groups/and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities.
• Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).
