As a Microbiology Laboratory Technologist you will conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in the microbiology laboratory including mycology, bacteriology, and parasitology. You will troubleshoot instruments and methods. In state-of-the-art 24-hour facilities, you'll find real opportunities to maximize your time and training. Perform all quality control procedures and assist in the evaluation of new equipment, reagents and methodologies. In this Senior position, you will function as a working Technologist who also assumes some responsibilities for the supervision and coordination of the activities of laboratory personnel in the performance of quantitative and qualitative tests, under the supervision of the Chief or Lead Technologist and Laboratory Manager. Relieves Chief or Lead Technologist during temporary absences. Great advancement opportunity for a Technologist! This is a full-time, night shift position working 12am-8am with rotating weekends and holidays. Location is our Weill Cornell Medical Center campus on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license from the New York State Education Department
  • NEW HIRES PENDING A CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST LICENSE: Must obtain the License within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Microbiology experience
  • 2 years of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience
  • ASCP certification
