About The Position

This position performs routine and complex assays on blood and body fluids within a laboratory setting. The role involves adhering to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and equipment. The technologist is responsible for reviewing assay data, independently solving routine problems, and contributing to complex problem resolution. They act as a resource for other medical technologists and laboratory assistants, provide training to new employees, and support the development and validation of new assays, as well as updates to procedure manuals. The role requires proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs, strict compliance with regulatory and client requirements, and a solid understanding of assay methods and their clinical relevance. Continuous professional development through relevant continuing education is also expected, along with assisting the supervisor on various duties and special projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • 8 Years of Clinical Laboratory work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and complex assays according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Includes routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and equipment.

  • Serves as a resource to medical technologists and laboratory assistants.
