The position involves managing the design and analysis of various clinical performance metrics, as well as the development and implementation of dashboards and databases to support provider strategic objectives. The role also includes leading and participating in performance improvement initiatives aligned with quality goals, and overseeing the architecture design and administration of analytical computing environments both on-premise and in the cloud. The position operates under general supervision.

  • Leads the data team for data architecture design and administration of analytical computing environments on premise and in the cloud.
  • Provides a path for working teams to streamline processes and continuously learn and improve.
  • Implements data science and related software across multiple computational environments.
  • Leads in the discovery, assessment and deployment of the analytical stack of cloud technologies.
  • Educates the data science team about cloud technologies and how they can improve efficiencies in workflow.
  • Focuses on producing business insights by identifying problems, accumulating data from multiple sources, and cleaning up and preparing data for analysis.
  • Prepares clinical performance data analytics and summaries; participates with BIA leadership in identifying opportunities for improvement for patient care.
  • Serves as a consultant to quality and provider leadership in data collection, analyses, continuous improvement, monitoring and reporting.
  • Promotes efforts to improve access to information and the ability of clinical staff to use data for generating change.
  • Utilizes effective technology to distribute findings and disseminate information.
  • Collaborates with end users to define needs regarding report content and format.
  • Conducts periodic updates and improvements of analytical routines and reporting systems.
  • Automates reporting processes for standard reports and optimizes programs.
  • Uses outcomes data to identify areas for improvement and recommends appropriate data sources and study designs.
  • Summarizes data to report on case mix adjusted service utilization and outcomes.
  • Monitors and evaluates specific elements of Hospice and Home Care quality and performance improvement.
  • Participates in the development of proposals, papers and reports reflecting project goals.
  • Presents findings at discipline-relevant conferences.
  • Uses appropriate statistical procedures to analyze and interpret data.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in applied statistics, health services research, and associated policy disciplines.
  • Maintains technical and applied mastery of industry quality, process, and performance metrics.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Registered Professional Nurse required.
  • Bachelor's degree in science or related discipline required.
  • Master's degree in public health, Informatics, Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five years progressive work experience in a health-related area, consulting, clinical data analysis or a related field required.
  • Proven statistical skills, proficiency with PC-based statistical software (R or Python), SQL, and database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake) required.
  • Background in informatics, database design, information systems and web technology required.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytic, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficient with personal computers, including Microsoft Windows Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint required.
  • Prior experience in quality management and improvement preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and practice improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Interpretation of data, project management and facilitation skills preferred.
