Senior Clinical Engineer
About The Position
Mendaera is looking for a Senior Clinical Engineer to help define product requirements and conduct testing to demonstrate safe and effective use of the company’s products and services. The position is part of the Product team and will collaborate closely with Commercial and Engineering Teams. The annual salary range for this role is $173,000 - $200,000. We are looking for candidates who: thrive in fast-paced environments; embrace ambiguity; can create frameworks and work product from scratch; are able to level between micro and macro analysis; possess critical and system thinking ability; are detail oriented.
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and independent, with excellent analytical capability
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build and manage diverse relationships
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with technical partners
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with healthcare providers
- Demonstrated experience performing preclinical, usability, and validation studies for regulatory submission
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; highly-effective presentation skills
- Versatility and ability to operate in a small-team environment
- Strong technical background; advanced technical degree preferred
- At least 3 years of work experience in the medical device industry
- Ability to travel for user engagements (clinical sites, conferences)
- Comfort working with preclinical tissue models
Responsibilities
- Develop in-depth clinical knowledge of clinical anatomies, procedures, and environments for which the company’s products and services are to be used
- Understand user needs and work with cross-functional teams to translate user and business requirements into design requirements and specifications
- Collaborate with engineering to drive clinical input into product design and development
- Develop test methods, models, and metrics to assess clinical performance and usability of company’s products
- Assess and document clinical risks, and identify appropriate mitigations
- Own and deliver Clinical Engineering team deliverables throughout the project’s lifecycle
- Author protocols, execute testing, and report results for preclinical, usability, and validation studies for regulatory submission
- Define and document procedure workflows associated with use of the company’s products
- Become an expert on the clinical use of the Mendaera product
- Support use of the Mendaera product at clinical sites
