Candidates based in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area will be hired in a hybrid capacity and are expected to work onsite at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in‑office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities. Current Need: As Senior Clinical Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing and managing our data solutions and advanced analytics. This role requires multi-focus expertise in both clinical areas and data engineering. This role will include activities such as analyzing data, designing solutions, partnering with other data experts to architect complex solutions, implementing data systems, and development of scalable solutions that support business goals.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) with clinical work experience or Pharmaceutical Sciences (or related) with data analytics work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics, ETL development, computer science or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience working with clinical data
  • 7+ years’ experience in database systems
  • Experience with modern database systems such as Snowflake or Databricks
  • Experience in dashboard creation in systems like Tableau and PowerBI
  • Experience working with clinical data sets such as claims data, in-office dispensing data, or EHR data
  • Must be comfortable and proficient working with large and/or complex databases
  • Ability to manage and prioritize many diverse technical tasks
  • Self-starter with proven care for managing sensitive data assets
  • Ability to interface with both technical and business resources
  • Ability to translate clinical requirements into technical solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Databricks a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, deidentification or other health informatics areas a plus.
  • Up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge the gap of clinical and technical for the Data Enablement team as we interface and meet the goals of various clinical teams within US Oncology.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, department leaders and stakeholders, leveraging expertise to help drive better solutions
  • Drives development of ETL code, metadata definitions and models, queries and reports, schedules, work processes and maintenance procedures.
  • Basic data set analytics to support review of data quality, understanding of KPIs, and associations with other 3rd party data sets
  • Task automation with a focus on limiting risk by limiting manual activities
  • Leverage clinical subject matter expertise to enhance data sets
  • Self-start who can work independently and prioritize development and enhancement requests
  • Assist with various documentation tasks supporting data solutions
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements for data transmission, storage, and data access including documentation, testing, and remediation.
