Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, biostatistics, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in building data pipelines for heterogeneous data ingestions.
  • Experience with Python/R, SQL, and data integration across multiple sources.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud technologies like AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with clinical data management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Build data pipelines for various heterogeneous data sources.
  • Identify, design, and implement scalable data delivery pipelines and automate manual processes.
  • Build infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading using cloud technologies like AWS and Azure.
  • Develop end-to-end processes for clinical data configuration specialists to prepare data extraction and transformations efficiently.
  • Coordinate with downstream users to ensure outputs meet requirements.
  • Create ELT and ETL processes to ingest data into data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Manage and maintain data pipelines and troubleshoot issues in data lakes or warehouses.
  • Provide visualization and analysis of data stored in data lakes.
  • Define and track KPIs for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain tools, libraries, and reusable templates for data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams on data transfer specifications.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and visualization as needed.
  • Ensure accurate delivery of data formats and frequencies with quality deliverables.
  • Participate in the development and training on transfer specs and best practices.
  • Collaborate with system architecture teams to design data pipelines as per business needs.
  • Network with stakeholders to enhance data integration processes.
  • Provide expertise for structured and unstructured data ingestion.
  • Develop organizational knowledge of key data sources and systems.
  • Provide technical leadership on clinical data flow aspects, including APIs and data streams.
  • Create data integrity and quality checks for data ingestion.
  • Coordinate with database builders and data management programmers for data integration accuracy.
  • Provide technical support and end-user support, working with IT to resolve system issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on data transfer specifications.
  • Prepare and process large datasets for downstream consumption.
  • Understand end-to-end requirements for stakeholders and contribute to clinical data ingestion processes.
  • Adhere to SOPs for computer system validation and GCP regulations.
  • Assist with quality reviews of vendor activities as needed.
  • Assess and enable clinical data visualization software in data flows.
  • Perform clinical data engineering tasks according to applicable SOPs.
