About The Position

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Claims Services Support Analyst from our Newark, New Jersey location. The successful candidate will be the initial point of contact for surety bond claims and have primary responsibility for the distribution of claims, correspondence and other materials received by the surety claims department and providing other support services as identified below. This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of claims or customer service experience.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of insurance company claims processes (investigation, contract interpretation, negotiation, and knowledge of relevant laws) is desirable, however we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, company employees and external clients.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access) and ability to learn and follow company claims systems and procedures.
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Intake and distribution of claims, correspondence, notices and various other items.
  • Handling phone calls from claimants and other parties, as well as routing calls, taking messages and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assisting parties with initial claims filings.
  • Scanning and indexing documents.
  • Sending correspondence as needed.
  • Processing and routing of both losses and recoveries.
  • Document look-up for purpose of routing as well as answering basic coverage and other questions.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
