Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; JD or CPCU designation a plus.
5+ years of claims handling experience, with specific expertise in New York Labor Law (240/241) claims.
Strong technical knowledge of liability, coverage, and litigation processes.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and timeliness.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

Handle a portfolio of high-exposure New York Labor Law (240/241) claims from initial investigation through final resolution.
Analyze coverage, liability, and damages to set and maintain accurate reserves.
Develop and execute litigation and settlement strategies in coordination with defense counsel.
Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as necessary.
Provide clear, timely communication to insureds, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with company best practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor junior claims staff and serve as a subject matter expert on Labor Law claims.
