Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in claim adjusting, with a focus on property and commercial insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and terminology.
  • Proven ability to manage authority limits and make independent decisions regarding claim settlements.
  • Valid adjuster license as required by the state of employment within the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Claims (AIC).
  • Experience working with complex commercial insurance policies and large loss claims.
  • Familiarity with insurance claim management software and digital documentation tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring or supervising claims teams.
  • Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution training.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed investigations of property and commercial insurance claims, including site inspections and review of construction-related damages.
  • Evaluate policy coverage and determine the extent of the company’s liability in accordance with insurance contracts and industry regulations.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and contractors to reach fair and equitable resolutions.
  • Manage claim files from initial report through final settlement, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior adjusters and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve claims processes and outcomes.
