Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in claim adjusting, with a focus on property and commercial insurance.
Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and terminology.
Proven ability to manage authority limits and make independent decisions regarding claim settlements.
Valid adjuster license as required by the state of employment within the United States.

Nice To Haves

Professional certifications such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Claims (AIC).
Experience working with complex commercial insurance policies and large loss claims.
Familiarity with insurance claim management software and digital documentation tools.
Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring or supervising claims teams.
Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution training.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed investigations of property and commercial insurance claims, including site inspections and review of construction-related damages.
Evaluate policy coverage and determine the extent of the company’s liability in accordance with insurance contracts and industry regulations.
Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and contractors to reach fair and equitable resolutions.
Manage claim files from initial report through final settlement, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior adjusters and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve claims processes and outcomes.
