Join Hitachi Energy as a Senior Civil Structural Engineer and be at the forefront of innovative engineering solutions. In this hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC, you'll coordinate and execute engineering projects ranging from Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) to Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) projects. Your expertise will drive project safety, cost efficiency, quality, and reliability. How you'll make an impact Provide cost effective quality solutions and delivering within budget and contract. Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks. Create civil and structural engineering work plans and cost estimates. Develop design criteria and design document deliverables for projects. Perform engineering in areas such as structural design, building design, foundation design, and material specifications as it applies to High-voltage Substation and FACTS applications. Resolve design issues and ensure compliance with national and local codes. Perform technical reviews of design packages and support construction and field engineering. Assume responsibility as the professionally licensed Engineer of Record on project assignments. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil and/or structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software and tools such as RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, L-Pile, ENERCALC, Hilti PROFIS, AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable standards and codes such as AISC, ACI, ASCE-7, and IBC.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
