Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering field of study
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina
  • Experienced with design, construction and management of civil municipal projects
  • Understanding of market needs and trends with ability to identify and act on opportunities to win work
  • Demonstrated experience in client management; ability to lead and mentor staff

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of previous experience in the Civil Engineering field
  • Previous experience managing a staff of engineering professionals and serving as a technical mentor for junior level staff
  • Current affiliation and/or membership with local, state or national Civil Engineering societies and associations

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct multiple projects for a variety of clients across numerous sectors and regions
  • Understand market needs and trends to identify and act on opportunities to win work
  • Maintain close relationships with clients throughout development of projects and after completion
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and collaborate with staff as needed to provide a positive team environment
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant regulatory programs, funding opportunities, design standards and procedures through active participation in continuing education programs and professional associations
  • Represent SEH with local governments, municipalities and industry events
  • Respond to RFQ’s
  • Prepare project approaches, scopes and fees required to complete projects
  • Present proposals to clients, interviewing for projects, and selecting project teams
  • Determine major project design decisions in conjunction with clients
