About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a motivated Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager/Vice President for our Florida Transportation Team!
This position will sit out of our Orlando, FL office.
This Opportunity
The WSP Tampa office serves clients from around the state of Florida on a wide variety of projects ranging from Major Interstate Reconstruction, Tolling Facilities, Arterial Capacity Improvements, Intersection and Safety Improvement, Innovative Intersections, and Resurfacing Contracts. The selected candidate may work with FDOT, various expressway authorities, and local municipal agencies on a variety of projects on a regular basis. Existing relationships and experience with our clients are beneficial. This position is an excellent opportunity for personal growth and advancement in our industry as well as building your relationship within the WSP organization on a regional and national level.
The selected candidate will demonstrate proficiency in major transportation infrastructure projects for FDOT, CFX and other Expressway authorities, or experience managing major state transportation projects. This role will be expected to provide guidance to Sr WSP leadership on current and future industry challenges, drive organizational growth, and support client relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering, civil and infrastructure design.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and the business impact upon the organization.
• Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization. Comfortable with Mentoring and Training Junior Staff.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Strong Relationships with FDOT/Central Florida Express/Florida’s Turnpike Delivering and Managing Projects
• Experience in Managing and Delivering Alternative Delivery Projects
• Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support effective long-term client/contractor relationships.
• Manage projects and maintain schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects, overseeing preparation of plans, specifications, proposals and RFC packages.
• Lead delivery efforts on projects with all aspects of Transportation Design from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design.
• Collaborate with management to determine long-range plans and objectives, including recommendations on project staffing, evaluating and mentoring of subordinate staff.
• Lead and provide input on Marketing activities for alternative delivery, regional Clients, and Local Municipal agencies.
• Provide support and training to Staff-level Engineers.
• Represent WSP's alternative delivery capabilities in assigned locations, markets, and at industry associations as appropriate.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
