About The Position

IMEG is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in civil site design, infrastructure, and /or water/wastewater design to join our Civil team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will lead and manage large, complex civil engineering projects, providing project direction, technical expertise , and innovative solutions to ensure successful outcomes for clients. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, oversee project delivery from concept through construction, and play a key role in mentoring staff and developing client relationships. IMEG’s civil engineers deliver comprehensive land development services for both private and public sector projects, including site planning, grading, utilities, and permitting Our team utilizes Civil 3D and advanced analytical tools to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions for site development and infrastructure We emphasize green infrastructure, erosion control, and sustainable site design practices IMEG supports projects through all phases, from initial planning and design to construction engineering and inspection, ensuring quality and client satisfaction

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
  • Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity, serving as the primary point of contact for teams and clients
  • Collaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors/Leaders during project initiation
  • Assist with design scopes of work, fee calculations, and contract reviews for proposal generation
  • Develop project schedules, set milestones, and manage deadlines
  • Prepare monthly billings, submit financial information, and update billing projections and completion percentages
  • Ensure designs meet owner standards, IMEG standards, and code requirements; oversee quality control and construction support
  • Lead and document progress meetings, coordinate project scheduling, and provide meeting documentation
  • Participate in project interviews and presentations
  • Respond to and resolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and obtain necessary approvals
  • Mentor, train, motivate, and lead team members
  • Build, maintain , and develop client relationships
