About The Position

Kennedy Jenks is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Civil Group. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, technical leader, and Project/Program Manager, guiding the delivery of complex infrastructure projects while supporting the growth and success of the team. Our Civil Group delivers high-quality, efficient design solutions, develops technical standards, and ensures rigorous QA/QC practices. You will play a key role in leading multidisciplinary coordination, mentoring staff, and driving both project excellence and client satisfaction. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, including pump stations, reservoirs, lift stations, and treatment facilities—supporting efforts from planning through construction while helping strengthen client relationships. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required; Master’s preferred
15+ years of civil engineering experience
Strong foundation in site design, grading/drainage, pipelines/yard piping, and stormwater compliance
Experience in water, wastewater, or environmental projects preferred
Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D is a plus; ability to effectively coordinate with designers is essential
Proven ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and manage technical documentation
California PE license required
Project management experience preferred

Responsibilities

Lead civil design for infrastructure projects, including site layout, grading and drainage, yard piping/pipelines, access, and stormwater compliance
Provide technical leadership and resolve complex engineering challenges; contribute to standards and best practices
Collaborate with internal disciplines, subconsultants, utilities, and clients to deliver cohesive, high-quality designs
Partner with project managers to ensure work is delivered on scope, schedule, and budget
Support business unit goals by collaborating with operations, technical, and sales leadership
Mentor and develop staff, contributing to team growth and strategic recruiting efforts
