About The Position

Kennedy Jenks is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Civil Group. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, technical leader, and Project/Program Manager, guiding the delivery of complex infrastructure projects while supporting the growth and success of the team. Our Civil Group delivers high-quality, efficient design solutions, develops technical standards, and ensures rigorous QA/QC practices. You will play a key role in leading multidisciplinary coordination, mentoring staff, and driving both project excellence and client satisfaction. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, including pump stations, reservoirs, lift stations, and treatment facilities—supporting efforts from planning through construction while helping strengthen client relationships. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required; Master’s preferred
  • 15+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Strong foundation in site design, grading/drainage, pipelines/yard piping, and stormwater compliance
  • Experience in water, wastewater, or environmental projects preferred
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D is a plus; ability to effectively coordinate with designers is essential
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and manage technical documentation
  • California PE license required
  • Project management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil design for infrastructure projects, including site layout, grading and drainage, yard piping/pipelines, access, and stormwater compliance
  • Provide technical leadership and resolve complex engineering challenges; contribute to standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with internal disciplines, subconsultants, utilities, and clients to deliver cohesive, high-quality designs
  • Partner with project managers to ensure work is delivered on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Support business unit goals by collaborating with operations, technical, and sales leadership
  • Mentor and develop staff, contributing to team growth and strategic recruiting efforts
