About The Position

The West Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, senior Civil Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater/Conveyance team in Orange, CA. This position will be part of an exciting team employing the latest technologies to solve critical water supply, treatment, and infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems throughout the United States. This is an opportunity to work on some of our nation's most pressing water infrastructure problems and contributing to AECOM's success as an industry leader in engineering and construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, related engineering field, or drafting education.
  • 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid Driver's License and must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in California, or able to obtain within one year of hiring date.
  • Experience with water/wastewater infrastructure design projects, of all scales from planning and design through construction phases.
  • Strong user of CAD and design software (Civil 3D, MicroStation, Water CAD, Bentley Design Suites, etc.).
  • Strong experience with site civil, grading, and drainage design.
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience in working with local and state regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in managing engineering subconsultants.
  • Experience with project management and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design project delivery from planning through construction for the water, wastewater and conveyance engineering team.
  • Lead a project team and work with other project managers to build the engineering design team in the Orange, CA office.
  • Perform both conceptual and detailed engineering designs.
  • Participate in detailed constructability reviews.
  • Perform detailed quality control reviews with other design disciplines.
  • Perform engineering calculations and modeling efforts.
  • Manage design/support of staff and project level engineers.
  • Coordinate project goals with multiple project managers.
  • Perform project management tasks such as workload forecasting and estimates at completion.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills within AECOM, with subconsultants, and with Clients.
