About The Position

IMEG is seeking a Senior Civil Designer to join our Civil team in Ontario, California. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of large, complex civil engineering projects, working closely with engineers, consultants, and clients to provide advanced engineering solutions and ensure project success. You will oversee project direction, perform advanced analysis, and review the work of others, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • 8-10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the civil engineering consulting industry OR
  • Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred
  • Lead the design and analysis of Civil Engineering project features utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for civil engineering projects based on written scope, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports.
  • Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
  • Provide in-process design reviews of civil engineering projects, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide technical training and mentoring; offer technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work; interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to specific project needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
  • Participate in project interviews and project presentations.
